wierd thump when you let go of gas at low speeds??

does anyone get a thump at low speeds when you release the gas from the front somewhere(seems like the front diff or somthing). ill give an example:

imagine you're drving in a neigherhood slowly looking for a house address and giving it slight gas and releasing so you're probably going between 5-10mph well each time I give the gas a little and as soon as I release, theres a thump coming from the front, rear where my foot would be. Hope you understand

I will say I have had that noise and it sounds like its in the driveline to me. My other Anerican branded trucks have all had the same noise to a greater degree . If it the same it is in like second gear and when you give it a little gas one bump type sound. If so I have found after 10 plus years as a tech that there has to be a free play in all of the splined shafts i nthe trans transfer and drives shafts, I wouldnt worrie its in the new chevy 1500 I rented. just my 2 cents if were on the same sound

believe it or not, mine was doing the same and I finally realized it was the collant in the radiator reservoir.

Since your still under warranty you should take the truck in and have them look at that and your death wobble problem. I'm almost willing to bet that one is causing the other.

My truck has done it since day one..Kind of embarrassing, but the sound/intensity hasn't changed..36K miles. I think it is something to do with the shift to second and driveline play.

Too all, As we know u joints are very popular for not lasting to long on the thrid gen's for some reason. So far the dealer has replaced three on the rear and one on the front axle of my 04.5 at around 45,000 miles. When the rears were going I did notice a little more slack but more of a vibration.
Well my truck was in the dealer I had them look into the thump or slack in the drivetrain when onto or off the go pedal. They basically came back with the "everything is within spec" line, regardless I have learned to drive with it being easy on and off the go pedal might not be right but my 2 pennies worth.
