Still not sure what your after but my 05 at 2500 miles has no problems other than bad gas mileage (11.5-13.5mpg), but then again i drive fast. The other day i did notice a high/ sticky idle when i had spun the tires in reverse on some gravel. went back to normal after my next startup.
Great truck. just not enough money left over for mods.

Let me start by saying I am addicted to this truck and I love driving it every chance I get. I only work 1.5 miles from home but somehow I've put 6,000 miles on it in 4.5 months

I read one of the articles about DC from a link on this site. It talked about how they are so proud of themselves to have cut warranty costs by 34% last year. I'd say maybe half that decrease was by building better vehicles and the other half was by scewing over their customers, (denying warranty coverage or just using the Blanket "oh, that noise, thats normal" line).

I made the comment last week, if I was just a normal guy and did'nt have my own shop and lifts, I might be ****** off with the problems I've had so far. Nothing major but little annoyances that take time and effort to either take in for warranty or repair myself. Rear end gear whine, bad noise from front end in 4wd, Clank from Driveshaft when backing up, slight vibration type thrumming over 70mph, Speedo fluctuates at 65-70 so I can't use cruise anymore.

Maybe if I was normal I would'nt notice all these things either.

I still would not want a Ford or Chevy

That is a significant stat. I would kill to know how much of it they attribute to stricter warranty coverage. No doubt that a lot of it is just because they built a better truck, but a third of anything is a huge stat.

I have always wondered why these auto manufacturers don't just spend a few extra bucks to make their products as reliable as possible. They are working with razor thin profit margins on most vehicles. I would just be curious as to what point warranty claims from using cheaper parts begins to overtake what they save by using those parts.

No problems whatsoever! Have had two 04.5's, first one had 14,000 mi. my second has 6,500 mi. both running good and towing strong. Why did I trade my first one? $1,000 difference including sales tax out the door with new warranty. No brainer! I do buy employee price.

Only problem i ahve is once in a while it wont go into park, the truck seems to go int opark but the lil display wont and then until i get it there it wont start ( thinks its in reverse. I gotta get that one fixed.

Oh and the hoods not straight, but the dealer here doesnt have a body shop? So no fix, kinda dissapointing but oh well. Cant ask for a stronger better truck. reliable as heck. Only cold start issue ive had is i sometimes forget to wait for the wait light, Big truck ( international) with the cummins ISX doesnt have one, I know diffrent beast, but pretty soon you end up once in a while crank, but she starts, no problems

25,000 miles and have the problems you addressed. No resolve from DC. Shopping around and telling averyone about. Service and customer satisfaction is everything. Without that, your truck is worthless. Pretty sad coming from the November 2004 Truck of the Month!

Sorry to hear that. There could be one in every parking lot.

I bought mine in OCT '02 and have over 36k wonderful miles on it. Couldn't be happier with my decision.
