Hello my diesel brother,
quick note: white smoke (with diesels) is air influence/leak.
when an air leak is present, then systems may be exposed to condensation which at times would be a delay/sluggish then speed up as it dries out type feeling.
billowing smoke on power is air leak intake area, check at BHAF first then the soapy spray bottle on heads, ect. while running idle.
btw, black smoke is fuel problems.
hope that helps a lil bit.

After checking the items previously mentioned, I recommend you replace the fuel filter with a Baldwin PF7977 as it provides the best filtration for the for the canister location. Make sure the air filter is clean or replace it with a 4" pleated filter.
This does however sound like an injector (s) issue. There are 2 tests that will give you a good idea of injector health, cylinder contribution test and return flow test. The first has to be run with a scan tool capable of interfacing with the Dodge software, the last is capturing injector return flow at 20k psi at idle and comparing against a norm.
New Bosch injectors are the best bet, as the quality and reliability of re- manufactured injectors have shown on several of the diesel related sites to be terribly unreliable. Some failing right from the get go. Since you have had two injectors replaced, the others were not far behind from becoming compromised. It is a best practice to replace them in sets. You could send them out to F1 and have them tested and built or go with new Bosch units from Exergy if you prefer.

I am having similar problems minus the billowing white smoke. I get white smoke now upon startup, my mileage has gone to total crap, and black smoke with only minimal throttle increase.
I have 111k and have been running a smarty at base level for 90k. The smoke upon throttle has gotten worse. i have changed air, oil, fuel filters to no avail. I am expecting some to be bad at this point but I do not have the 2k+ to change all of them right now.
I need to test them to see whats the problem. What is the cylinder kill test? How much does F1 cost, approximately, to rebuild.
Thanks,
the poor EMT.
