White smoke...then black smoke.
This has just happened recently. The truck always blew good black smoke on performance setting. Then one day leaving work, i waited till she got up to temp and got on her. It blew white smoke and continued to do so the rest of the day. The next day it was black again. So it does this every couple of days, under different weather conditions. I replaced the fuel filter, ran a tank of injector cleaner through it. I then took it to the dealer where they ran the injector fail test and ran it around. They say its fine. I have also noticed that since it has started to do this, the get up and go has deteriorated and it does not dump the smoke it used to. Could it be the winter diesel? Is the programmer? Anything would help.

Possible small HG failure?
White smoke is either unburned fuel from sticky injector or valve not completely closing; or, steam from coolant escaping into cylinder.
Those are just guesses... hard to troubleshoot from the computer.
