Where is Axle Ratio Identification?
Where is Axle Ratio Identification?
I have an 06' 3/4ton 4x4 - G56 -6speed. The dealer told me that it had the 3.73 gears, but I want to make sure. Where is the I.D. tag or info on the specs. I found one on my buddies 05, in the glove compartment, but I can not find one on mine that list the info. It sure doesn feel like it is winding out, at 70mph, I am at around 2250 RPM. My Brother in Laws Duramax at 17 is running around 1900.
Go back to your dealer. They can enter your VIN in their computer and print out ever thing, standard and optional that was put into your truck,I have a bigger print out than what was on the window sticker when I first saw my truck.I was told that 3.73 was the standard off the assembly line ,but I am sure they put out a few 4.10 s as well without special order.
I have 4.10 gears in my truck and run around the same rpm that you are. I also have 285/75/17 bfg's but that would not make much diffrence. I am around 2300 running 70, at 80 I believe i am right at or just over 2500. It seems like too many rpms un loaded but while towing it gives the advantage of not coming out of 6th gear for the mountain. Also it should be stated on the window sticker under axle ratio if you still have it, On the right hand side about half way down.
