axle ratio???
My new 2500 SB HO Cummins with Automatic (48RE) was delivered to me yesterday. I didn't specify the rear end<br>ratio at the time of order. The sticker shows under<br>transmission "axle - rear, 11.50". Is the 4.10 the <br>standard shipped ratio for the automatic and what <br>does the 11.50 mean? ???

Re:axle ratio???
prolly means you have a dana 80 rear<br>If you jack up the rear end and put the truck in neutral-<br>Draw a horozontal line on your driveshaft and one on your tire. Rotate the tire one revolution while you count revolutions of the drive shaft- this is any easy way to tell your gear ratio. Plus if both tires rotate in the same direction, then you have an ls.

Re:axle ratio???
Open the glove box and take a peek at the sticker (not the window sticker). Save yourself all the trouble listed above. No need to get under truck. Helped a local guy yesterday figure it out, hes searched and searched for the tag on the differential..........popped open the glove box and low and behold hes got 3.73 ratio
I got a kick out of it. The 11.5 stand for the 11.5" rearend.

Re:axle ratio???
The build tag is on both front and rear ends. Also it is on the window sticker of opptions/standard that came with the truck. My first truck a gasser the ratio came under my name off to the side. You would of got the Sandard unless you ordered the option 4:11 $75.00 more. OverFueled

Have you looked at an 03? Remember they have American Axle instead of "our" Dana axles.

Re:axle ratio???
On my 98 there is a tag on the underside of the hood with, among some other things, the ratio listed. Don't know if the newer ones are the same way, just some food for thought.
