Wheel Squeaking

I have an '03 2500 4x4 with 59,000 miles and my right front wheel has developed a squeak. We narrowed it down to a seal in the wheel bearing or axle. After removing the brakes and rotor and not having a socket big enough to remove the axle nut I brought it to a shop today and they concluded the same thing I did as to the location and probability of what's causing it. It's definitely a rubber on metal sound. Anyway, I did not realize that the wheel bearings are sealed and not serviceable. The tech was able to move the wheels on both sides and mentioned I may need new wheel bearings soon anyway. I'm shocked with so few miles.

My questions are these. Has anyone else experienced a squeak in a wheel due to a wheel bearing or axle rubber bushing? And, has anyone changed the wheel bearing assembly in these 3rd Gen trucks?

I have the squeak in the wheel and, my wheel bearing is out on my 2003. It only has 37,000 miles on it too! They want $492.00 to fix it!

I've also had the rear pinion and rear ujoint replaced, under warranty thankfully. I'm really starting to wonder about this truck?!?!?

How'd they determine the wheel bearing was out?

have you guys been jumping hills or sitting in water. I had to replace both wheel bearings on my 01 5000 miles apart but it was well over a hundred thousand. Could just be a bad batch in the 03's

The driver’s side front wheel was screaming so loud you couldn’t hear yourself think, and also when they put it on a lift and shook it, it was wobbling pretty badly.

Heck, mine's mostly interstate travel. I bought mine the first week in October 2002.

Just noticed today that the dealer ship had replaced my front drive shaft with a brand new one? They said nothing about this to me, all they told me was that they where going to replace the bad front wheel bearing. I'm calling them tomorrow to see what's going on.
