Update on my truck ... canister mounted lift pump let go at 72k. I had the in-tank retrofit kit installed by the dealer. Maybe not the best choice, but I am told it will be more reliable than the OEM.

As of 95k miles, 1 tail light, 2 cab lights, 1 HVAC controls light bulb, 1 set of batteries this past November, 1 set of tires in 2011, 1 vacuum pump for the jake brake at 78k which still needs to be replaced, and 2 48re range sensors which 1 is currently out now so no reverse lights.

Bought my truck new in 06 with 13 miles on her since then I've had the 3" coolant hose on side of block twice, front left wheel bearing at 75,000. torque converter and valve body at 80,000 my fault replaced with Triple disc and VB from Suncoast , lift pump at 110,000 replaced with an airdog II, just replaced ujoints at 128,000 turned out the noise was the transmision not the ujoints so trans got Suncoast billet input, mega 2 rebuild kit upgraded electronics and extra clutches topped off with a DD mag hytech pan. Front and rear pinion seals are just now leaking. Blinker switch only works when she wants, tach is intermittent, nav unit is junk. And it's time for rod ends and ball joints...But all in all i love my truck and glad I was talked out of a ford !!!!!!

05 with 256k now. Bought it with almost 200k on it. Needed a rf wheel bearing and all 4 ball joints when I got it so I did them. Since I was in there I did pads and rotors just because. Have done another set of front pads, every u joint front to back, steering stabilizer, sway bar links, a set of batteries, all 4 shocks, and a serp belt. To me these are just normal wear items for a dual wheel service body truck that works construction every day. The truck also gets a 9' plow put on it every snowstorm. Pulls an equipment trailer with either a skid steer or mini excavator at least every other day. I didn't buy it to go get groceries, I bought it to work. And it hasnt let me down yet.

update for mine at 138,000

4 wheel drive shift linkage fell off - two bushings deteriorated and the the linkage is gone.

I think I'm doing a blend door soon.

And to think I was worried about the 48RE when I bought it. So far the trans is fine. I have only ever swapped fluid and replace filters on the trans - bands are not touched and never been flushed.
