Bought my '05 in September of 2013 with 108K. Currently has 143K.
Stuff I have fixed / replaced or had done (in no particular order):
Oil pan the week after I got it (rusted out; dealer replaced for free)
All 4 ball joints
Wheel bearings
U-joint @ rear axle
Front axle shaft u-joint
Trans oil leak
Trans cooler
Radiator
4 pin trailer connector removed (corroded itself together)
Ashtray (broke so I removed it ...$100 for a new one...uh, no..)
Left rear door harness the day I bought it...repaired it once, now it's acting up again...
Rear calipers
Hood lift struts
Track bar bushings (replaced but problem I had was something else)
Sway bar bushings (front)
Sway bar end links (front)
Steering stabilizer
Radio (broken again; dead)
HVAC light bulbs
3 cab marker light bulbs
Wipers have a mind of their own
Turn signal / wiper / multi lever / switch. Had enough of the above & broke part of it.
I'm currently running it with what I think is a bad body control module. ABS / Brake lights are on too. Intermittent "lamp out" light too... Needs front shocks, rear tires.
That's all I can think of.
Pic of the truck apart during radiator change...

Not one problem while it was under warranty. Since then
Ball Joints
front axle u-joints
front wheel bearings
3 sets of tie rods(recall)
Steering box
front pinion seal
power mirrors (both)
power seats (both)
rear speaker wire broke in door(both)
key switch
A-Pillar grab handles both sides
2 injectors
hood struts
steering dampener
turn signal switch
rear driveshaft u-joints
shocks
track bar bushings bad(installed Thuren track bar)

Wish it was part of the buy back. Tired of dumping $ into this thing.

2004.5 2500 4x4, LWB, QC, bolt action, 158K miles, bought in Oct 04:
I'm not counting normal wear items like shocks, brake pads/rotors, batteries or things that got damaged or replaced because of me.
Lift pump @ 16K - replaced with FASS before DC began retro-fitting in tank pump
Driver side front seat belt retractor rattled
Front door panel pieces rubbed on each other and squeaked
Steering wheel - leather peeled off and the replacement did too
Water pump x2
Wiring harness to TPS (bell crank sensor) - replaced sensor 3 times in four years before finding bad harness
Wiring harness to rear driver side door window
#4 injector tube
Rear drive shaft u-joints - twice
A/C duct foam comes out the vents
Driver's seat lift motors- front and rear
End links
Wiper motor - it fixed the intermittent wipers doing what they wanted too
Driver's seat cushion disintegrated
Alternator
CD stuck in the player that won't play- been there a while now
Over head console came apart where the light switches are held in from bulb heat
Driver's window/lock control bezel x 2
Clutch - the throw out bearing went bad and ate the fingers on the pressure plate
Rear main seal seeping
Ball joints @ 143K and PS lower is bad again now
Fuel sending unit hockey puck screens plugged with gunk and metal
What it needs now is the steering linkage replaced, ball joints again, seat motors, another driver's seat cushion and seat cover.
Other than the perpetual maintenance and repairs it's been a good truck

Best truck I have had,
I can't complain. My truck is a 05, with 36K miles. It has new ( this summer) Nitto Dura Grapplers on it now. I went up to the 285 size, and it is really good. I think the truck should have come with this size. Selling all my old 265 size tires. It passed that recall on the steering, it has the arm that the bolt for the stabilizer goes through the middle. I was lucky there, but It is recalled on airbag, will wait on new airbag, don't want to be replaced with same airbag. I may take the **** thing out myself.
I havn't had any work done on it except what I have done which is regular maintenance. replaced the G-05 antifreeze with fresh, replaced the brake fluid.
Replace the rear axle cover with a aluminum one that I change the oil in the rear every 15 k miles, the front just once. Getting ready to change the transmission fluid again, and pan this time.
I did have a time with the new steering stabilizer, it didn't like the new one from Bilstein. It made it pull left, so I took it off sent it back, got another one, It likes it. who knows. It still has the original batteries, they seem fine. I put the motorcycle trickle charger on it in the winter. Never driven in snow.
In Virginia we have state inspection, the give me crap at the inspection every year, that I need a lower ball joint on the passenger side. I argue its within tolerance. I don't want them beating on it. besides the truck doesn't wonder down the road or rattle the steering wheel. I think they just want money.
I would like to get aluminum drive shaft, but no one makes them for quad cab-short bed.
AC works like it should, no cracked dash, I bought from a guy that was selling it to finish his house he was building, in 2006 with 4900 miles. I have had it ever since.
Nope. I am not selling it either. No way, I couldn't afford a new one. I had a 96 Dodge ram before this one and it was a good truck.
