What tranny in 12/03 mfg date, automatic

I am looking at a 03 date of mfg 12/03. It has 130k on it and the auto tranny was replaced by a new factory one at 90k. Do you know by the date what tranny would probably be in it and if it was a good tranny or not?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It should be a 48re. My 03 with a build date 03-03 has the 48re in it. Hard to say if it's "good" or not, how does it feel?

I just drove it. It feels good to me. The thing runs like a banshee. It was pretty loud at certain rpms. It has a bully dog programmer chip in it but looks well taken care of. I am sure it has been driven somewhat hard, otherwise why chip it? It had a ticking noise coming from the front left when turning hard. I live in Oklahoma and the truck came from Oklahoma. 2nd owner. Is the noise the u-joint? How much to repair this at a shop?

Has 35" BFG and a front leveling kit. Awesome looking ride. He wants 16k with 125k miles. Also a B&W Turnover hitch but rarely ever used. Brand new spicer u joints front and rear. What should I offer him?
Thanks guys

Sounds like a nice ride. Usually during a turn if you hear a clicking it's the joints. You said they are brand new ones though, is that new joints on the drive shaft or what? It might of even been the tires barley rubbing, especially if you have the wheel at a full lock.

What else is done to the truck? Like exhaust, intake, ect? What Bully Dog programmer is in it, outlook monitor there aswell?

The joints in the shaft were replaced. factory 4" exhaust and it is a power pup programmer. no gauges for monitoring temps though.

the only ones that came with the 47re (like mine) are the standard output 250hp engines. All the H.O. 305hp engines came with the 48re in the auto trans. The trans is 47re internals inside a 48re case. The case is the same for the electronic plug in's. I learned this from Dave Goerend when I bought a core 47re from an 02 and sent it for a rebuild for my 03, he swapped me case for case and told me the difference. I didn't want to use my origional trans because it's still good and I have it to put back in if I ever trade the truck in. Dave said the parts inside that are "beefed up" in the 48 model are parts that never break anyway. I was going to pay x-tra to upgrade to the 48 and he told me it was a waste of money to do that and to do a billet input shaft instead. That is what I did. I told him I would be around the 500hp mark and he still said to stay with the 47 guts, with him knowing that and giving the warranty I assume he knows there wouldn't be a problem, I was ready to spend the money and he pretty much said its a waste for my application.
