What are TONE rings and SILENCER rings and some of the other things that must be diesel specific spoken of here in these hallowed pages...LOL

 

tone ring is the ring behind the balancer pulley that people are modifying to advance the timing a few degrees.....the silencer ring is in the opening of the turbo that people are also removing to get a little more turbo wine...

the tone ring mod people have been reporting increases in low end power and some fuel economy do a search on cam sensor/ crank sensor or look here

the silences is just if you want to here the turbo whistle have heard anyone say they get any more HP...
