NO FISH Story - getting 21 in summer & 19 in winter. I have kept track of every ounce of fuel ever put in my truck & my numbers are hand calculated. See graph in thread I just posted - 'MPG Graph for last 53,000 Miles!' - https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=129749

If I keep my foot out of it I'm getting 18 MPG but the way my wife and I drive we're barely averaging 15-16 over the last 6,000 miles. That includes about 10% of the time towing a 8K Travel Trailer. We still hope to get better though according to what all of our freinds are getting in theirs with no mods. I'm definitely looking into a cold air intake and possibly an exhaust upgrade pretty soon to mainly boost MPG.

The airbox will help. But an edge EZ or a quad xzt will help your mileage. You can feel the power right away. So if its your around town driving that brings your mileage down. These boxes will help. They give you a better power band to get the truck up to speed faster. Or even try a Roktech sensor. The boxes and Roktech are simple to install

Call it a fishing story if you want it's what I'm getting and I know of others doing the same. Some people say no two trucks are alike I tend to believe that more often than not its a case of someone thinking they know how to drive for mileage when really they dont.
Hate to burst your bubble but I bet its not on...........

On a trip to LAX yesterday I have 572 miles and no low fuel light yet. Normal highway driving at about 75-80 some mountains.

Mixed driving in the Wash DC metro area gets me 15mpg
All highway trips with cruise set at 70 = 17.5mpg, 80 = 15.5mpg
Towing my trailer (~10k) at 65 = 11.5, 75 = 9.5
Winter fuel drops all mileage readings by 1-1.5mpg
These are all hand calc numbers and the overhead consistently reads 0.5mpg higher than the calc numbers.

Mileage would be spectacular if I could run 75mph and keep rpm's at 1800. But that's the lesson with these trucks, don't tach up the motor if you want to attain higher fuel economy.
