What does this engine code mean?

My check engine light came on this morning. Holding the odometer button while turning the key to "run" yielded the following indications, which repeated every few seconds:

S 113
, 264
C 447

(That second one has what looks like a leading comma.)

Where can I find what these codes mean? Thanks!

the odometer button doesnt show engine codes.

turn the key on and off 3 times(no starting) then back to on, the odometer will give engine codes.

the odo button gives chassis stuff

Oops, my mistake. I'll check it using the proper procedures and report back. Thanks for the correction!

OK, I've tried every triple-combination I can think of:

* Off-to-On three times, then a fourth
* Off-to-Stop three times, then a fourth
* Off-to-Acc three times, then a fourth
* Acc-to-On three times, then a fourth
* Acc-to-Stop three times, then a fourth

...and all I ever get is mileage. Is there some minimum or maximum amount of time you're supposed to leave the key in each position? I tried varying that, too, but nothing changed.

ARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!

I tried leaving it on a while after the third and fourth cycles but didn't see anything. Based on these comments I'll go try it again and be a bit more patient [grin]. I'll report back! Thanks!

Got it! Error code is also P0071, just like the other poster...

I wasn't cycling on-off fast enough. I don't like to stress stuff unnecessarily, but in this case you've got to be pretty quick on the key.

Anyway, P0071 is supposedly "Ambient Temp Sensor Performance", and the claim is that the temp sensor hasn't seen more than a three degree C change in the last 200 miles. I presume they're talking about the engine intake temperature, not the overhead temp display (which has been moving around properly).

Yeah I found the "Ambient Temp Sensor Performance" name, but I don't know exactly which sensor that is. Is it the sensor on the intake box that I bolted to my AIRAID when I got it? Is it the one under my grill guard that is conected to the overhead temperature display? It has consitnetly been 100-105 deg here in Texas for about the last 2 weeks if that means anything...

As noted below, the same one - P0071. Mine self-resolved today, the CEL went off and stayed off, so apparently the sensor reported more than a three degree C change today!

Glad to hear it. I tried unplugging the sensor and had no luck. I realized my Airaid was dirty so I took it off, cleaned/reoiled it and also lightly wiped off the sensor. Something worked because the code went away.
