What do I got in my rear?
OK, I have searched through the forums and found tons of information for my needed rear axle fluid change. But a couple of questions that I have not been able to answer are:
1. How do I determine whether I have a 9.25, 10.5 or 11.5 rear axle?
2. How do I determine whether I have a Trac-Lok or a Trac-Rite differential?

My guess is you have the 11.50 with 4.10s maybe 3.73s. Don't have any idea if you have an LSD.
Mine has a label inside the glove box with that information. Then, lookup the quantities in the owners's manual. Otherwise, look at the diff tags or possible decode you vin number. Do you have the configuration sheet from the window? Good luck.

Well the VIN didn't provide any insight, but that little sticker inside the glovebox sure did: 3.73/11.5 Anti-Spin.
With that said, does the Anti-Spin refer to the Trac-Lok or Trac-Rite?

Somone correct me if I'm wrong.
Your truck will have the 11.5" American Axel.
It requires 7.62 pints of full synthetic 75W-90 gear oil that meets GL-5.
American Axel with limited slip (trac Rite) does not use an additive or friction modifier.
I put Valvoline SynPower in mine, just because it was available locally, but there are many other fine choices, and many threads with various opinions.
As long as it is 75W-90 synthetic that says it meets GL-5, you are using what DC requires for warranty.
Hope this helps.
Jeff
P.S. Hold on to something when you find out what this stuff costs...
