What is code P2769?
I can't find in any searches or the list here https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...n&onlynewfaq=1 What code P2769 is. I do know that when it shows up is right after my truck wants to almost stall or does stall. Its happend two previous times and then the code cleared after a few days and then it happened again this morning. First couple times was about two months ago. I drained the fuel filter as a precaution then and again today. But of course there has been no engine warning light or water in fuel light.
Any ideas before I take it to the dealer for a code that doesn't throw a warning light?
Thanks!

Hey thanks for the info. Sounds like your correct on what the code is. Here is the kicker. I get in it to go to work today and its stuck in what seems like 2nd gear. Wont shift up down or anything. I shut it down and turn it on several times over the course of 5 miles. And its no better. Considering what you said I knew there was a set of train tracks ahead and I hit them hard to shake the truck. Turn off then on and bingo the truck is working fine again.
This part ticks me off. I take it to the dealer and say fix this. Give all the details. I've now gotten a call back. They CAN'T fix it because they don't know whats wrong with it, the code is not enough. They NEED me to bring it in while its locked in one gear for them to figure out whats wrong with it. So I'm like what am I suppsed to do on my trip out of town tomorrow when it starts acting up, drive at 55 mph and 3000 RPMs all day till I get back to your shop. They can't do a thing till its actually not working right to figure it out. Makes me feel real good about the next 3 out of town trips I have to take including one to the mountains with my Jeep in tow.
Guess I better bring my dead blow hammer to smack the trans a few times next time it acts up. Thats how I get out of 4 wheel drive in my Jeep, smack the back of the t-case

Update for the archives, maybe this will help someone some day:
Today, two days later, I am on my way out of the parking lot at work. Get 100 ft and have to stop for traffic. As I roll to a stop the truck bucks. OK, so its starting again, I get to the next traffic light and I come to a slow stop three times and each time just before coming to a stop it bucks. I call the Dodge service guy on his cell and say its acting up right now. I go into a neighborhood and it continues to buck at stops. Then as I am on the phone with him it starts jumping RPM's from 500 to 800. I roll 5 ft and hit the brakes and it stalls. Start her back up and now stuck in 2nd gear. Drive couple hundred feet, stop, restart and all is back to normal. The remaining 40 min dive home the truck is fine.
This is the worst its happened. Before I got some minor feeling in the brake pedal like the ABS was kicking in, but wasn't sure if it was the road. Now I am sure it was the same thing just not as noticable. The common thing now seems to be days where it has rained, or raining. Problems occur at start up or very close to it. Seems like once everything has gotten hot, its back to normal opperation.
If the dealer can't figure something out from all this and the error codes, my next move is to make them keep it over night so the can run it from a cold start and hope it does it with one of thier techs in it.

I suspect a bad electrical connection in your PCM plug. There was a Recall on the '03 trucks for this. The fix was to clean the connector, apply some dielectric grease, add an "O" ring to keep the moisture out and reconnect.
Well, this afternoon I got a call that it was fixed. They spent all day Friday trouble shooting different things and finally figured out the torque converter clutch solenoid had gone bad. They ended up getting on the phone with thier tech support to figure it out. But I am happy they finally took the time to fix it. I am not happy however that I've had to have my Chrysler transmission fixed already after 20,000 miles. Buy, it will probably be fine for the next 100,000 or so, or untill the DTT upgrade happens.
Also thanks for the responses I got. The dealer never had this problem before so that's why it was such a problem getting them to look deeper into the issue. But if you get this code this is just one of the many things that could have gone wrong from what I was told.

ITS BACK!!
The problem returns. In the middle of a slow pull up the mountain the tranny bogged down for about 3 seconds and I was stuck in 2nd gear again. 15min down the road I was able to shut it down and start back up to normal. The new code with the old code this time is 0514. Not sure how that relates to this problem though. That was yesterday. And again today right from my driveway it started out in 2nd. Drove for 15 min or so to get all hot, restarted and its back to normal again. Its always right at start up or within the first 10 min of driving something happens, and it always been sitting in the rain on a cold start. And of course the dealers tranny guy is on vacation for the week.
So what is it, they get 3 chances to fix it and if it doesn't get fixed I can start looking lemon law?
Does that have to be all at the same dealer, I think I want to try another one. Any recomendation in the Atlanta area?

Real assuring taking your 40,000 truck to be serviced by these incompetent goons . I recently took mine in for a new transfer case tailshaft seal . Noticed a crack in the rubber when I was putting my dual exhaust on ,wasn't leaking YET but I was always trained to do PREVENTATIVE maint . Clowns called me TWICE ,they couldn't see any problem ,after I explained if your tech would actually get under the truck he might see the crack running all the way around the seal
!!!! Thank god I am pretty good with a wrench and have several friends who are REAL mechanics and equipped to handle what I can't . Needless to say good luck with your repair and if they can't do it take it to another dealer, I have been to 3 now . They all seem to get kind of crappy because I bought it out of state for alot less than any of the stealers here would give me .

Hey man good luck getting this fixed. I just had the same problem , mine was not shifting out of third gear. they replaced the 3rd gear solenoid. shifts fine now. except now it slips in first gear, bucks real hard downshifting into first gear. no codes.
OK, for the archives one more time. Seems to be fixed this time. And thanks for the replies saying it was an electrical problem between the truck and trans. I suggested that to the dealer from the begining. So, the fix:
"Diagnose vehicle and found DTC P2769 for TCC control circuit low. Follow flow chart and called Star, locate the YL/LB wire in pin #9 connector 109 chaffing on top of the bellhousing. Insulate and reroute wiring in connector Y1/LB."
Thats right from the ticket.
I'll have to get up under there again and see if I can see this. When I looked I could not tell any wiring had gone bad.

i have an 05 had no codes or lights on truck would stay in first and if u let off it would go in to secind and if you get beack on the gas it would down shift into first again. bring it in they pull the tranny and fine burnt bands and cluchtes. so they are in the middle of rebuilding it only 9,000 miles on it
