Mornin', all.
Lurker checking in. Noticed my water pump is leaking at where it bolts to the block, just the orange crusty stuff, occasionly a silver dollar sized drip on the floor. Truck has 78K, I know that it's still under the 100K warranty, but I figure the ******* will remove/replace the original pump with maybe just a new o ring. Anyway, I will take this opportunity to replace the pump, flush and refill the system (Zerex G-05), and replace the hoses. Got new parts waiting at the local Napa counter.
Does the pump o ring need any sealant? None indicated in the service manual, but want to avoid the same problem in future. Same for Tstat housing, sealant?
Also, any pics of the block drain locations? Can't seem to find a good illustration in the manual...
Last question, is the Cummins Tstat really worth $60?
