Water pump

After a world wind trip to north Texas and back yesterday I noticed a few spots under the truck this morning. Looking from underneath the AC bracket was wet spot and felt/smell like antifreeze. So it's starting to leak.

Who makes a good replacement that will last?

Thanks. I'll get one on order.

Drove it yesterday and no more leaking?? I was pushing it really hard on the way home on Friday towing a trailer and wondering if that had something to do with it? Also got some crappy diesel in Van Alstyne. The engine was rattling more than normal.

On my third water pump. Last pump was from Rock Auto and so far it has lasted for 4 years. Now carry a cheapo spare pump in the truck from Auto Zone or O'Reilies (forget where I bought it) and a new belt for emergencies

I went with one from Cummins. More expensive than others but if the first one last 150,000 miles hopefully the next one will too.

x2. I'm a big fan of OEM water pumps. Haven't had to change mine yet, the original's still doing good. (knock on wood) When it goes, hopefully Cummins still has a NEW replacement available.

60K on my OEM before it puked. 40K on my "very expensive" super duper Geno's special and still running fine. At this rate I could change a Geno's out every 15K and still be ahead financially.

Mine failed at 58K. Dealer replaced it with OEM at a cost of $600 ($350 for parts). Although I was over my 7 yrs by a couple of months, it was far under the 70K on my powertrain warranty. So, Chrysler was kind enough to reimburse me for all but the $100 deductible. Next time I'll go with aftermarket or look into the Cummins pump.

I likely will jinx myself now, but I'm on the original water pump still.. Also very low mileage at 75K miles.
