Warrenty Question

Hello,

Anyone know if the fuel pump and/or lift pump is covered under the 100,000mile cummins warranty. As I understand it, it is, b/c the truck won't run if it doesn't get fuel. I have had a fuel pressure code tripped for the last 4 weeks and I have 79k miles on the clock.

thanks Jamie

The lift pump and CP3 (Injection pump) are both covered under the 5/100 warranty. Your dealer may tell you that you have to pay a $100 deductible since you are past the 3/36 warranty. HE IS WRONG. In your owners manual, it states there is no deductible on the 5/100 cummins warranty.

My 04.5 went in at 46k for an injection pump under warranty. It took them 5 days to get the new CP3. They called to tell me it was ready to pick up...3days after I traded it for my 06.

I wish I would have known that I had to pay the $100 2 weeks ago, and they made me pay to get the cruise activated High idle truned on also.

They said I had to pay both because I was over 36k miles

dencordle,

Take your owners manual into the dealer and get your $100 deductible back.

As far as the high idle TSB, dealers have the right to charge for that, but it is at their discretion.

Can you tell me what page or where I need to show them? Is this in my owners manual or my warrenty book?

I don't have my 04.5 anymore, or its owners manual, but I think it was on the first page of the warranty book. Email DC from the Dodge website and ask them, then print the email and take it to your dealer.

Check the index of the main owners manual for "warranty" also. I know that there is no deductible when the Cummins 5/100k warranty is applied.
