Warranty

Ok, i just bought a new pickup, which is listed below. It just started today making a whining noise on decelaration below 30 mph, does it in gear or in neutral, it is an auto by the way. Does dodge warranty cover just the motor for 5 yr/100k or is it a powertrain warranty??

As far as I understand the 5/100K was just for the engine. That year should have the 7/70 for powertrain, are you over that?

Oh, wow, well I hope they do honor it. Dealer to dealer will differ on whether they work on it. Also, see if you can get a history pulled on the truck, if it had been brought in in the past for the same issues, then it is a repeat write-up, may give you more ammo when talking to the dealer.

Thanks. The crazy thing is, i've drove it maybe 1000 miles and it all the sudden started making this noise. I'm not sure if this cold spell brought it on or not, it's down to about 10 at night here. I'll prolly go in tomorrow and talk to the dealer, see what they have to say.

griesera,

snoyes is correct in that 05´ has the 7/70. don't be surprised if they say no due to being 500 over, just the way they are. If they do work under the 7/70 its $100 deductible. If you can better determine what is causing the noise, might be covered under the 100k dodge warranty on the cummins.

Is it whining (like gears, bearings), or squealing? Could be something simple like idler pulley or serp belt (not warranty items).

Well guys i went in and they will not honor the warranty. I'm gunna have em look at it anyhow and see if it's engine related for the 5 yr/100k motor warranty. Hopefully it's not anything bad. thanks for all your help!!! Greatly appreciated!
