vibration at idle??? 6 spd

Hey need a little help, Ive searched the forums and havent found anything to help me out. I have noticed a vibration at idle, doesnt matter if you have the clutch engaged or not. it goes away once its in gear on moving..

Ive got an 06 megacab 6 speed with 153,000 miles on it. clutch seems good,
any ideas??? friend drove it and said it sounded like throw out bearing..
Havent had a manual in 15 yrs.. so any help would be appreciated..

Thanks

If you have the G56 tranny there's a good chance it's the dual mass flywheel. Most all of them have taken a dump on their owners at some point.

If I were betting it is the flywheel. That is a lot of miles for a DMF. I have seen several failures at way less miles.

Sounds exactly what i had when my flywheel went. Once we had the pressure plate off you could free spin the thing about 1/8 of a turn before it would catch the springs. Horrible design from a longevity point of view but it does lessen the vibration a bit in the drive train (when not messed up), I switched it out for a single mass. Yeah they are a bit noisier at lower rpms but i can't see dropping in a new flywheel every 75k.

I had this issue and it was my harmonic balancer. The bolts started to come out and throw everything outa wack. Good luck

The G56 also has a very long pilot diameter on the input shaft---long enough that I found my pilot bearing backed ALL THE WAY out of its bore; there was lining dust all over the bearing outer race indicating it was completely out. The new bearing, on my Valair, is staked in place.

Thanks, How are you liking the Valair?
