Question Valve Adjustment?

Dealer wants $259 for a valve adjustment.
Any of you DFW guys want to make a little hustle???

I hope its ok for me to ask this.

I've done and old 454 and i'm not looking forward to doing this myself.

Dealer here in Austin quoted me $199, if that helps, or if you ever make it down here...

This is the 04 Auto needing adjustment. Just went over 100k, last one at 50k was free at dealer.

Thanks.

An I6 is going to be way easier to adjust than your old 454. Look around in my gallery, I took some real good pictures from when I did my adjustment. Took me ~2 hours when I did it, and that was the first valve job I ever did.

2.0 is usual customer pay time.If a tech has done a few its not a biggy.I'd be curious what warranty flat rate pays for it.Warranty flat rate times 130% is Chilton time.Any one got a Chilton or Motors time guide or warranty flat rate.It pays .7 to R&R rocker box gasket. To run valves can't be THAT much longer if skilled at it. Did my own 12 valve ONCE my self and did it less then 2 hours at home in the backyard and never had done it before.

Thanks.

Is this something we need to be doing every 50K?

Hard usage at 130k.Lite usage 150k on 03 through 05.Don't know about 06.Of course you can adjust them when ever you feel like it also.

I do it every 50 just because I'm stock and it's 'bout all the BOMBING (if you can call it that) I'm not scared to do.

I pull a backhoe about 80% of the time and like clock work I have gotten more ticking about every 45-50k so far.
