That thought has crossed my mind. I am watching the gauge closely. I will keep the phone numbers to DPP/FASS and Glacier Diesel handy if it takes a dump on me. That is probably my next mod anyway.

DBLR, all the pumps here still have the stickers but like you said doesn't mean we don't have ULSD

If you are running B100 there is no petroleum based diesel mixed in.

B100 is 100% biodiesel.

If you were running B20 (20% bio, 80% #2 petroleum diesel) the question has merit, but I don't know the answer.

The bio would help the lubricity of the ULSD and consequently you could offset the higher cost of bio by not buying additives.

This was released from my company's 3rd quarter financial statement they released today. They spend 23 million per month in fuel cost.

"During third quarter 2006 truckload carriers transitioned a substantial portion of their diesel fuel consumption from low sulfur diesel fuel to ultra low sulfur diesel (“ULSD”) fuel, as fuel refiners were required to meet the Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”)-mandated 80% ULSD threshold by the transition date of October 15, 2006. Preliminary estimates were that ULSD would result in a 1-3% degradation in mpg for all trucks, due to the lower energy content (btu) of ULSD. Based on the company’s fuel mpg experience to date, these preliminary mpg degradation estimates are accurate."

My last 3 tanks of ULSD have yielded 3-4 mpg decrease in my VW TDI.. I haven't run the truck out of the current LSD in the tanks.

Just filled the wife's TDI Jetta for the first time tonight with ULSD in Gilman, IL. It is B11, so lubricity should not be a problem. I am still running adds though for MPG. Will be interesting to see how it does.
