I would say yes.

Not sure if I,m on the same page you are but I just got my 03 in November 06 with 40,000 on it. With it carried over a 70k power train and 100K on the engine. I found out it previously had 3 sets of U-joints in the front axle under warranty and I just had one replaced in the drive shaft under warranty, but it cost me the $100 deductable. Next time im doin it myself. $30 and the time to do it myself, not worth the $100.

I know mine were. I had my u-joints replaced at around 24k and everything was covered under the warranty.

they will replace them with the same junk they put in the first time. just get yourself some new greaseable one's from a parts store(mine cost $29 each) and never deal with it again.

Sorry to keep asking this question, but are the symptoms to bad u-joints? I thought mine were bad, but I'm thinking there's more wrong. I get a loud "clunk" when coasting over speed bumps and shifting gears. I thought it was normal until I drove an older Dodge Cummins that was way "tighter" than mine.

What do yo think?

Dont ever be sorry, please.

clunk is a vague term unfortunately. where does it seem like its coming from? could be loose suspension, ujoint, etc. With the vehicle parked and only the p brake on, crawl under and try to twist the different shaft sections opposite directions, if there is play and they clunk, change them.
a ujoint will make a vibration at a particular speed. once it is vibrating, kick it into neutral to rule out any trans issues if the vibe is still there. You can safely support the truck on stands, and run it up to the speed where the vibe occurs(will need 2 people)look underneath and see if the driveshaft is running true or moving around. Stop everything. Touch the joints themselves. If they are hot, change it.
Mine vibrated and made the carrier bearing jump around. there was no play in the joints. only by touching(and burning my hand) did I know the joints were shot. My center joint was seized from lack of lube, since you cant lube the factory ones.

In my case the u joints were "chirping" every time I turned the steering wheel. It actually sounds like there is a bird caught in the wheel.
Took it in, under warranty, they changed the u-joint on the driveshaft. It didn't fix the problem (go figure). Now they are changing the joints on the front axle. There goes another $100 for deductable.

Luckily, no vibrations at any speed. But the whole "drive train" is not nearly as tight as it used to be when I bought it (11k miles). Now I have 69k miles.

I had my wife put in 1st gear, while holding the brake. She then let the clutch out a little bit then pressed it back in really quickly. This caused a loud "clank", which seemed to come from the transfer case. Also, the drive-shaft kind of bounced back and forth in opposte rotations.

Boy, this is not making any sense. I'm starting to confuse myself with what I'm typing. HAHAHAH

If I had a digital recorder, I'd video tape it.

Dodgezilla04, I'll try what you said and see what it does. Only about 800 more miles and I'm out of warranty! Thanks for the help.
