The overhead console should be able to give you both US and Metric results. The US are of course US Gal. and not imperial Gal.

To convert from Gallons to Liters, multiply the number of Gallons by 3.7854.

Just an FYI, but to convert miles to kilometers , multiply number of miles by 1.609344.

To convert the US mpg to Imperial, just add 20%. Eg) 20mpg on overhead becomes 24mpg (Imperial).

A U.S. gallon is 3.78 litres. An imperial gallon is about 4.25 or 5 us quarts to an imperial gallon

Your over head will give you km/L, convert your km to mile and then Litres-gallon (4.5) and then switch over to your US screen and see if it matches.

The overhead reports it as litres per 100Km.

Wow! Until just now, I had never even heard of an Imperial gallon. I'm pretty good at math but this has been a confusing thread to read.

Just completely disregard the overhead fuel economy readout as it is inaccurate anyway and do a hand calculation each time you fill up

I don't know why liters per 100km, became the Canadian way of measuring mileage. Hardly anyone uses it since there is no easy conversion factor to relate from miles per gallon to L/100km. L/100km is opposite of MPG as you are striving to consume as little fuel per 100kms, therefore the lower the number the better the mileage.

The only thing the overhead is good for on my truck is impressing my passengers. My overhead can read up to 3mpg high (US), making my truck look far more efficient then it really is.
