Tsb ?
I called my dealer today about the tsb for the ruff shut down/bet shredding.
He had it in front of him and confirmed there was such a thing (not that I doubted but I have heard horror stories of dumb techs not even knowin what a tsb is) but said it would cost me 187 bucks to have it done.
My question is... Why do we have to pay for TSBs?
I thought they worked kinda like a recall.
Someone please shed some light on this for me.

The dealer just tried to stick me with the cost of a flash for code P0514. After some questions and a couple of inter-office phone calls it was covered by the emissions warranty.

Thanks guys that was the info I was lookin for, however it may be just as easy for me to get the pully and belt and change it myself, my dealer is an hour away, but I am glad to hear I am right about the TSBs.
Thanks

WAP, I'm not sure all TSB's are covered as "no charge". So far, mine have been but I've only had P0514, the tearing weather strip around the door front and lower door sill weather strip done.

Well, as a belt shredding victim, yours went before its time, and the "anti-chirping" TSB is supposed to reduce stress on the belt at shutdown (which causes the chirp).
My dealer replaced my belt under warranty (there was no TSB at the time), but I have had TSBs done for no charge when I made the complaint AS STATED on the TSB. For instance, I had the "white smoke and overhead computer inaccuracy" TSB performed (even though I had neither) when I told the dealer I had those symptoms (a little white lie, but I wanted the TSB as it was supposed to increase mileage - it didn't).
If you go into the dealer and say "right before my belt shredded, it was chirping ALOT, and I think the stress of the shutdown, which caused the chirp, contributed" they should do it. My dealer would, I know, but I have a 10-year relationship with that dealer.
