Truck dies when fuel level gets to 1/2 tank

While driving my 2006, 3/4 ton diesel, when the fuel tank level gets to a half tank, the truck will die. It doesn't appear to be as bad if I'm going slower as opposed to driving on the interstate, but still has trouble. I don't know if its a lift pump, fuel pump, or possibly gunk in the tank. My fuel filters are not showing anything out of the ordinary and thr problem still occured after changing filters out. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I had that happen once. It was gunk partially stopping up the screen in the tank. That'd be where I started.

Have you checked for any codes? 1/2 tank and it dies is rather fishy sounding to me. Are you sure the gauge is reading correctly? I'd pull the sending unit and have a look-see!!!
