Transmission Leak?

I was under my truck today looking for any problems and I noticed my transmission was covered in a light coating of oil. It looked as if the oil was coming from the top of the transmission and working its way down from the top. There are no puddles or even drops on the ground under the truck . The oil on the outside of the case is clean oil. I changed my transmission oil at 115,000. Is there any ides of where the oil is coming from?

Thank You.

Any chance that you slightly overfilled your tranny and the excess is now coming out a vent?

My 07 with 75000 miles had a leak in a sensor or connection in the transmission when I went for the last oil change. about 80 bucks to cure it.

Trani Leaks

Well thats the story for my 03 2500 for the last month or so. Ive taken my truck in 4 times now to have the trani leak fixed. finally narrowed the leak down to the over drive housing has micro cracks in it. we welded up a few of them, and more appeared the next week. 330 bucks for a new OD housing is being installed right now. my guess is when the OD heats up, the cracks expand and thats why it only leaked on the drive way every now and then.
