Transmission Designations

OK guys, how do I find out what the heck the differences are between 46,47,48,49,re's and/or 599, 600, 601. Which year is which, I was told that my 2005 had a Benz tranny, is this so? I hear a lot of grousing about the autos needing regular oil changes, like 15K miles, is this necessary or do we need to add an external cooler?

I WIL TRY TO HELP AS SIMPLY AS I CAN.
46 RH WAS HYDRAULIC CONTROLLED 318-360 GAS AUTO.
46 RE WAS ELECTRONIC CONTROLLED 318-360 GAS AUTO.
89-93 WAS SOMETIMES CALLED A 518 AND WAS BASICALLY PUT BEHIND
EARLY CUMMINS 89-93 ALONG WITH SOME CUMMINS TRUCKS HAVING 727.
47 RH WAS HYDRAULIC DIESEL V-10 TRANS IN 94-95
47 RE WAS 96-02 DIESEL OR V-10
ALL TRANSMISSIONS WENT TO RE IN 96 WITH DEBUT OF OBDII, EXCEPT FOR
42RE IN EARLIER 4.0L JEEP GRAND CHEROKEES.
48RE CAME ABOUT IN 03 WITH HO CUMMINS.
YOUR 05 HAS A CHRYSLER 48RE AUTO IN IT.
