My friend's '03 2500 6spd pops into neutral once in awile on long downgrades when he uses his pac-brake. It usualy happens at least 1-2 miles into a steep pass. It just goes into neutral then he has to stop only on brakes to get it into gear without it grinding real bad. has anyone else had similar issues.

I have not had the problem. If I were having the problem I would check the linkage to the transfer case, as well as motor and transmission / transfer case mounts. It sounds like the linkage ( cable I believe ) is out of adjustment and or a mount is allowing enough movement to cause the issue. Good luck and post up results.

 

Check the fluid level in the tcase
