Tranny slipping in 4th pulling a heavy load.
Tranny slipping in 4th pulling a heavy load.
Well, I went to the mountains last week and noticed a possible issue. Sometimes while pulling a small grade at 63-64 MPH and at 1900 RPM my tranny would slip. I just backed out of it a little bit and it would stop. Tranny temps were good a 160 F. It did this a couple of times. I am going to upgrade the tranny in the future but I wanted to get every ounce of money out of this sucker and yes it is still under powertrain warranty. Anybody have a 48re do this before it went boom? On the side of the road is not where I want to be on a long trip far from home.
Well we see how it goes. I didn't want to push it and burn it up since I was 4 hours away from home. I am sure it will get worse. I may just (gulp) spend the cash on a Goerend TC, VB, Suncoast flexplate, and all billet shafts. No sense in doing it half way. Ouch, that hurt just saying it.
