Hey guys, Iam in need of a overdrive housing for a 48RE tranny auto 4x4, Chrysler will not see any in North America until sept 20th or so and there are 50 on back order in Canada alone... Just wondering if there are any places out there that carry these in stock..? i've looked at almost all the reckers and they will not sell me one unless the tranny goes with it. Mine still drives but its Cracked on the transfer-case side.

Any help or info on where to find one would be greatly appreciated.

Try Quad4x4 in Montana - Dan is a gear guru, but I don't know if he has much auto stuff; maybe he can send you to someone who does.

I know he has cast-iron tailshaft housings for NVs...

 

Just wondering, if Gear Vendors Overdrive could outfit the transmission.
If so, you would have a six speed auto.
I considered adding one to my (sold) 03 3500 srw SO/47re transmission.
