tranny is gone

well the tranny is trashed, 39K miles on the truck dealership is ordering a new one today, they said it was messed up pretty bad, they had it 3 weeks ago to fix the 1-2 hunt problem, i drove it about 100 miles since i got it back.... sad the new dodge tranny costs 4690.. thank god for warranty

i talked to the tranny guy at the dealership and he said he could put a aftermarket torque convertor on, a deep pan ( he recomanded that he would) if i wanted to( i would have to buy), what do yall think and what should i have him do.

That sounds too good to be true! Hurry, before he thinks about too much.

1. Lower stall higher efficeincy billet converter

2. Shift kit

3. Upgrade the intermediate band strut, actuator lever, and anchor.

4. Optional billet input if you wanna play a little harder.

Go have fun!!!!!

the dealership isnt going to give you a aftermarket TC, that would completely void your warrenty. Maybe the deep pan is acceptible but the TC isnt.

Wow, sweet deal! And they didn't complain about your tires or anything? My local dealership cried about tires (little 32" tires!), heck they even said they wouldn't cover anything because I had the Commander gauges. That was before I put the Smarty on, just gauges!!

Yeah, steering stabilizer and lots of air pressure in the front helps a lot.

Can't wait to get rid of my BFG's. Seems they cause it too....

Took my truck into the shop yesterday for trans issues. Its out of the base warranty, but I have the extended. Havent heard back from them yet, but called another dealer today to see what a trans. would cost. $2600 and a $1000 core, this price was under an account but I don't think it would shave off $2000. They also said that there was no option for new that it went to the reman part # and they are on national back order with no lead time. I have heard stories of dealerships letting you use the amount of money that warranty pays for the transmission to go and by aftermarket, but these are probably just stories. I asked the service manager about it and he didn't think there would be a way to pull it off, all I think they would have to do is bill out the dodge part# on the invoice cut you a check for what warranty covers in parts to by the aftermarket transmission and if the aftermarket is more then we would just foot the rest. Sound easy to me.
