trading off 24v for 12V cummins??
Hate to say it - it is just a thought at this point
but I may soon consider trading off my 04.5 with 20,000 for a older 12V, or 2nd gen. in execellent shape when I find one.. and I have found a few with 12V 97-98 with 50 - 60,000 miles.. reason is if I can't play with home made biodiesel on the new truck then I may have no real choice..
** now.... someone can tell me I am craZy!! please
yes/no!

Nah, you're not crazy... I've often thought about doing the same thing, myself. A 2001 has been my dream truck since, well, 2001... and if I could find a 98 12v with low miles I'd be all over it in a heartbeat.
