Torn Boot On Shifter

Servicing transmission today and found this boot to be torn. Dodge wants $91. Is there any other place to order parts like this?

Get a universal CV boot from any auto parts store for like $12.
Skrew Dodge. I just gave $65 for a rear xfer case output seal from the dealer. Napa couldn't cross reference the #, but their most expensive similar seal was about $25!

If you have replaced the boot before, try seeing if the dealership will give you warranty on it. We always find that problem on our trucks, doesn't seem like they last long at all. Anytime that we have a ripped boot now we get warranty on them. I agree that dodge's pricing is getting out of hand, and I thought 70$ for that boot was ridiculous! Great idea grit dog, I might just try it out next time.

MOORE Fast Boot kit p/n M92-06801. Many have used that universal CV joint boot to fix the problem. In fact, it fits like a glove and has a long life as compared to the stock boot. It is FAR less expensive thatthe factory part.

Do you mean MOOSE fast boot. It was the only one I could find on the internet. I also found it in motorcycle websites?

Sorry, you are correct,it's MOOSE. I believe Auto Zone or O'Reilly's sells them, possibly NAPA. My neighbor just recently replaced his, that's where I got the p/n from, on the box it came in. I helped him put it on.

Can't take credit, not my idea. Was a suggestion when I posted about replacing my clutch. My little $90 orange boot is still in tact, so I haven't tried the CV boot yet.

Just got the part. Did you have to use any clamps?
