tires sizes
heh guys I have a 2005 ram 4x4 with 17" stock tires what size of aftermarket tires are you guys running and what brands I want some thing a little bigger that will fit without rubbing can someone help me out or if you have any pictures thanks
many many posts on this on many boards
but 35s on stock backspacing wheels rub a bit on the arms, only at full lock.
the 33s on stack backspacing dont rub at all
when you go to a 4.5" backspace wheel, 33s may rub, 35s will.
as for tires, there are comments about BFG causing death wobble, I have not had that problem. Toyo seems to be a good choice as well, they even come "E" rated.
there are some pics in my gallery, I will be going to 37s as soon as my 35s wear out, or I sell them first. I only have a 2-3" lift.

What he said. According to Discount Tire Company's computer....the 285's are the largest tire that the truck is rated to use without rubbing issues on the stock wheels. The stocker 265's are definately to small and imho the 315's are just a little to big. The 285's are a good compromise between the two for looks and performance (not robbing power).
Agree 285 17's BFG AT KO's are on my truck and i am having them and the aluminum wheels moved over to my mega cab when it gets here, stock michelins suck for anything other than dry road driving IMHO

Stuck a set of Toyo Open Country MT's 295 70R 17 Load Range E at 3980 Lbs per tire.... Had them road force balanced, smooth ride, a little noisy, no lift on the truck, completely stock, no rubbing what so ever even hitting bumps at full lock.
