Is there a way to manually lock converter on '06?

Hi all,

I have a brand new '06 3500 SRW with the 48re and 3.73's. One thing I would like to do is be able to manually lock the converter under low load conditions. The stock converter lock parameters are kinda annoying-it doesn't lock in 4th until about 49 mph, and doesn't lock in 3rd at all unless you're in tow/haul mode. I would like it to routinely lock in 3rd under light throttle, and lock at about 43 mph or so in 4th under light throttle. I'm perfectly willing to flip a switch myself to do this, though an automatic way to do it would be nice since my wife will be the main one driving it, and she's not gonna want to launch the space shuttle to drive her truck.

Try the same setup as works on the 05's and see if it reacts the same. IIRC, pin #7 on the trans plug tapped to a switch and a 33 ohm resistor between the other side and ground.

if you just want to lock in 3 and 4 why not just drive in tow/haul mode?
