Another vote here for Supreme 1000.
Thanks for the response. I had been on their website a few weeks ago but the nearest dealer is over 120 miles away, that's why I was asking for a website that sells and ships.

Oh well, looks like I'll stick with my Rotella CI 5-40 group III synthetic until they quit making it later this year. That's why I'am searching now.

Which amsoil 15w-40 did they test? The straight 15W-40? or the marine 15W-40 AME that most everyone uses? Both are diesel oils.

Doesn't say.... I have a hard time believeing the only typos were with amsoil... needless to say it didn't leave much faith with me.....

Well the numbers in the report don't match the numbers that Amsoil reports... so I am not convinced there... for a while they were saying the 5w-40 European oil was good for the cummins so I assumed they used that...but who know.... like I said, I dont have a lot of faith in the testing.

According to the price it was the full synthetic CI 15-40 heavy duty diesel and marine oil and the full synthetic CJ 5-40 diesel oils. I beleave I also read about the typo in the next TDR issue or confirmed on their website, can not remember right at this moment.

It was a blind test by a reputable person who use to work (retired) for lubrizol (spelling) which makes additives for oil producers. He didn't know who's oil he was even testing, just relied on the oil analysis to determine if it was a CI or CJ oil. He used his expertise in the field of engine oils to determine which oils belonged in which catagories.

I don't know were your getting the 5-40 european oil information from or who your presumming, but I've never seen it referenced in any TDR magazine artical. Maybe in misinformed websites, by misinformed people, reporting misinformed information, they heard from a misinformed person. I see it every day on all these forums.

Nothing like starting an oil thread.... Always seems to get the Amsoil guys stirred up! Have had buddies run the stuff with good luck, but personally had so-so luck with their synthetic 2 stroke oil.

The articles were in the last 2 magazines, I think it was 57 and 58, don't know if it references anything in the current magazine. What number is the current magazine? I let my membership laps on the last magazine before the current one.

Which oil is the best Diesel oil amsoil makes?

EDIT:: Sorry I think I figured it out for myself, amsoil HDD diesel 5-30.....Don't have any information on it other than what amsoil puts out.......which any oil company will promote their own oil.......

I use the 9000 5W-40 in all my diesels. Semi's and pickups.

I buy it from http://beansdieselperformance.com/schaefferlub.htm and they ship it.
