Is this strange?
My WIF light has been on steady even though I've drained the thing several times. This weekend my truck really started acting up. Truck was running like crap, and the WIF light was going on and off on and off. Idea... fuel filter clogged. Pull old filter, the filter housing is full of freaking gelled fuel. It has the WIF sensor clogged, etc. The water drain won't hardly operate... probably not good. Get it spooned out the best I can (yes, I used a spoon) then used paper towels to get the rest out as good as possible... put it all back together with a new filter and then run the pump with the drain **** open (gotta love the '03+ trucks, self prime!
) Suddenly the drain opens up and starts spewing... yay! Close drain **** after draining probably a quart of fuel, let it prime up the filter. Fire it up, sounds good, no WIF light... run down the street... hey this thing has a little power!
Fixed!
Anyone heard of these things gelling up the filters in the heat of the summer?

Never heard of gelling in the summer, sounds like you got a bad tank of fuel, might want to keep the place you got that last tank of fuel at in your mind the next time you fuel up. At least you know the wif light works properly

You can buy biocide to put in your fuel if that is it.
