Strange Question

I have noticed that I am getting an excessive amount of exhaust smell mostly at idle. What could be causing this?
What controls idle mixture?
Thanks
Chuck

Re:Strange Question

Check under the hood to see of the rubber seal has popped loose across the back sill in the engine compartment.
It happens alot and will allow the ventilation intakes to pick up oders from the engine.
It just pops back into place.

Re:Strange Question

It might not hurt to crawl under and look at the exhaust system to be sure you don't have a leak just past the muffler, or anywhere for that matter.

Wish I had more to offer, goodluck!

Re:Strange Question

I've noticed it lately as well.
Started with the colder weather.

Don't know why it would be associated with colder, unless the cold air is keeping the exhaust closer to the ground or something.

phox
