Strange Idle

Couple weeks ago the wife pulled into the driveway and had me go out to check her idle speed. Tach showed 1200 RPM. She just completed a 150 mile trip, and didn't notice it until she pulled off the highway. After goosing the throttle a couple times and physically checking under the hood for something odd, I gave up and shut it down. Started it up - idle was normal (somewhere between 8-900 rpm). Any ideas?

Re:Strange Idle

You may need to recalibrate your APPS. Do a search on APPS. There are posts on the calibration procedure. The idle speed is controlled by the ECM, but if a signal is being received to give the engine throttle the idle will be higher.

After recalibrating the APPS, check out this thread for something I've never thought of. Can't wait for the pictures.

http://www.dodge-diesel.org/yabbse/i...;threadid=6866
