Stock Air Filter Box Issue

I have an 05' and the air filter box is no longer snug to the truck body where it should be pulling in fresh air. The foam that is supposed to help seal the box and the truck body is no longer useful, it doesn't adhere to anything. Over the years I have watched as my truck runs slightly hotter and hotter. I am not talking about dangerous levels of hotter just a couple clicks hotter every year. When the truck was new the temp gauge was well below the middle mark. It has slowly continued to climb to now it is just barely under the middle mark and goes over on long climbs or heavy acceleration. I have changed coolant, maintain the vehicle well, have no engine or trans mods other than wheels and tires.

Any thoughts on how I can fix my air filter box .

Thanks

that piece of foam with sticky crap came delivered on my 2005 not even glued on correctly. It found a new home the second day i had the truck in the garbage can. Don't worry about that, temps with it on and off are insignificant. The temp gauge, the positions you are posting are just fine.

The foam around the air box intake degraded and most of it ended up in my air filter. I wouldn't worry about it.

Have you used conpressed air and blown the rad,air to air and the a/c condenser of bugs and debris? I try to do that every once and a while just to keep the air flowing through. Try to blow the air from the rear to the front.

I cant help you on your airbox, but I did have the same issues with the temp gauge rising and running hotter at times. I changed the thermostat and everything is back to normal.
