sticking clutch...?

Some may remember, I just picked up my 2004 QC 2500 this past weekend. I'm noticing my clutch pedal seems to have a sticking point right at the end of the release, like it's catching on something. Causing me to have some goofy take-offs and shifts (lurches). Anyone able to clue me in on what to look for or lube?

Thanks.
Justin

Have you checked the fluid level, It's a hydralic system? could be low.

I'll check that in the morning. Had thought about that but didn't think it likely since it's a newer truck with 37k...

check the cross shaft up under the dash. My 01 came with no end clips on the cross shaft, the shaft slid, and not only hung the pedals up, but destroyed the little overpriced plastic bushings that the pedals ride on. This caused a sticking pedal, and I am sure didn't do wonders for the clutch wear. I noticed this first at about 30,000km. I ended up pulling the cross shaft, taking the last "good" plastic bushing, and having brass ones made, then center drilled the shaft and put 90 degree grease zerks at both ends. now, the pedals work as if they were new.

Good luck with it.

So, clutch fluid level is fine, and the cross shaft is not having any issues. Any other thoughts?

Thank you.

Linkage o.k., fluid level o.k., Does it make any abnormal noises. This is hard to diagnos without driving. could be a host of things like hydralic going bad, throw out bearing, pressure plate springs broke.

Any thing more you can contribute would be helpful.

Yeah, I understand this is like trying to diagnose a noise over the phone. LOL

There is not much more to tell honestly. It slightly sticks at the very beginning and end of the push. It's 100% smooth otherwise. I can push the pedal down by hand without problems, but I do (think I) feel the stick with my hands as well. It's almost like whatever that shaft is going through the plastic collar has a bur on it and it sticks to an o-ring or something. I'm not saying that's what it is, just trying to further describe what it is acting like. I'm trying to get my wife to drive the truck and tell me if she feels it too, or if it's just me losing my mind and my driving abilities.

addition to the issue...

To add to the sticking clutch issue... when it's COLD and I first start the truck in the morning (i.e. 32* and below, give or take) the clutch feels FINE. When the truck and/or weather warms up though, it starts to stick just a bit.

Additional thoughts? Minor annoyance but it's like that squeak you just can't seem to find...
