Squiling Noise Please Help
I have a 06 drw with 6 speed and 4x4 with 25k . I was hauling my 3 horse trl. at about 3000 rpm and started hearing a squeling noise coming and fadding out. Dodge said it was the clutch and changed but i still hear the noise. I happens when i hold it at 65 or 70 and keep it there for awhile. It almost sounds like a bearing going out. Please help guys. Seeams like you all know you stuff Thanks

Could it be in the rear diff?
I had this and going up to 75/140 gear oil (syn) from 75/90 seems to have fixed it. No noise any more. It only happened with a load going up hill and pretty heavy throttle.

Two things you might also check.... Alternator bearing...Just replaced mine this weekend and it was squealing, although slight I could hear it, and then what about the belt tensioner and bearing? I have not heard that these are an issue in the CTDs, but I have had this issue on others.

I've also got a squealing in mine (all the time though). Can't pinpoint where it's coming from.
Mr Bee, what exactly did you replace on your alternator? I've seen a TSB out for 3rd gens that replace the pulley with a free wheeling (in one direction) one to prevent a chirp at shutdown as well.
Can the belt tensioner pulley bearing be replaced by itself, or do you have to buy the whole darn thing?

5.9.... I replaced the entire alternator becuase the charging rate dropped to about 10V.... Not good! BTW... these are not cheap to replace...
A re-manufactured alternator for $190.00. It also started giving one of my batteries issues (Pucking out acid out of the vent) but once alternator was changed all is well .

Do you know the tsb number I went to the dealer and they had no clue about the tsb. Mine has been squeaking since 3K and I have 18k on it now. They replaced the belt and alternator so far but it is still there.
