Southbend 1947 OKhd clutch install and pedal pressure

Querying you that have installed a Southbend 1947 OK hd clutch. What change, if any, did you experience in the clutch pedal pressure? Any comments appreciated.

Slightly heavier pedal even with the hd hydraulics. Not really an issue at all

I could sure use some ideas from those that have installed this 1947 OK hd clutch. I have to take the truck in Monday morning and I don't have a lot to go on yet. After the install, the clutch pedal takes at least twice as much pressure to activate the clutch. How long are the hydraulics going to last with that kind of abuse. Somehow things got messed up in the install. Is this normal or should it be close to the feeling of the stock clutch? All the words I got were very positive on this unit. It feels good other than the amount of pressure on the pedal. I don't think I could stand on the left leg after a day of driving it right now. OUCH.

Thanks for any help you can add.

Mine's installed on a G-56 Bob. That's the only difference I can think of. A 3250# pressure plate is going to take more leg power, but honestly not much more than on mine. I got used to it in a short time.
I have the SB OKHD 425 rwhp w/HD hydraulics.
It shares the HD pressure plate that the 3250 DD's have.

Who did the install for you - - or did you do it?

An ex Dodge tech who now works with his dad in a local independent shop.

Excellent. I was going to do it myself, but tough in our subdivision and I did not want to run clear out to the ranch and do it - - all my tools are here and the truck will not fit in the garage. Hopefully we can figure this out on Monday. My wife cannot drive this thing right now, and I sure don't want to be in the middle of the Yukon in 6 weeks and have something happen where she needs to drive. Not fun if she can't push in the clutch. Maybe Peter at Southbend will have some good information and advice for us. Thanks for your tidbits. Happy trails.

Yeah, ask to speak to him personally.
If it goes to voicemail,he'll return your call promptly.
As much as I like this truck a lottery win would have me in a '14 Aisin. Not gonna happen.
