SO flashed to HO

I have an 03 SO w/ 48re. I was wondering if (I'm under the impression the 03 SO and HO are same motors) I could get the same out of it as the HO by having it re-flashed. I'm pretty convinced this would void my warranty but would be the first and I'm assuming easiest mod once I start throwing my warranty out the window. Any comments?

I remember reading that Tommygun tried this on his 03 SO at the dealership that he works at and it didn’t work. They even tried putting in a VIN from a HO and the computer still wouldn't do it. Don’t know why…..

I think all us SO owners would have done this a long time ago if it were possible...

Yeah, won't work, different sleeves I think, most definatley different injectors. different setup for oiling. I wouldn't do it. Just get yourself a Banks Six Gun w/Speed Loader. Then you will running the same as those guys.
You could always get upgraded injectors and beef up the tranny and add a better intake and exhaust and and and and and and and
Or just trade it in and get an 05

LOL I would love to do that. I've shopped for this one for 3 months...Only to find out when I get there that I was lied to and it wasn't an HO. However it did have the 48re. I'm looking to add more pwr but the warranty means more to me at the moment...But one day.....ahhh. heh

As far as tradin it in. I recently saw the www.carsdirect.com....dang...if only.

Without turning this into an accessories post. I'm lookin at

straight-pipe.
Air-raid w/ MIT
silencer ring MIA

just to stay within the limits of what I can do...Thx for the replies.

Could you flash a 555 to a 600? stuff should all be the same in there right? couldn't go to a 610 though i don't think, too many changes. What do you think? they may not do it for you but should be possible.

The computer setup is differant between the 555 and 6xx so I don't think that will work either.

the computers are different between the two. the ECM in a 600 controls the turbo wastegate and some other stuff that the 555 does not
