Exclamation 235 Flashed to 305

Can someone tell me if my 03 with 235hp ca model can be flashed to 305hp at the dealer?

I'm going the the dealers tonight on some other issues.

in theory it should work, but i doubt it a dealer would do it. if they do let us so guys know where he is, it might be worth the drive.

After reading that, I thought all these 3rd gen trucks had oil spray piston cooling. Am I wrong on this?

all the cummins b series engine have the oil piston cooling jets, just different types...

quote from factory service manual (page 9-329 from 2003 manual)
Piston cooling nozzles cool the piston and
pin with engine oil supplied by the crankshaft main
journals. High horsepower pistons are gallery cooled
and utilize J-jet piston cooling nozzles.

I think the manual should have said High HP engines have J-jet piston cooling noozles and standard outputs are gallery cooled.

I have done this and it works fine, but you're right the dealer won't let you.

I would think, just locate a wrecked HO. truck and get the ECM from it?

This was my thinking as well, but some guys on another site said that they were totally different engines, so I dropped the idea.

The dealer has no way to flash one from one spec to anothr. The flash up grades are supplied to them from the MUCH higher ups.A fash destroys info and upgrades the software with NEW info.the Dealer does not have THE info to increae horsepower.swapping Ecm's may work.May not.If I'm not mistaken the ECM'S are burned with a vin number to match each truck built.I don't think they will interchange.I could be wrong but I think its a feature to stop the bootleg/stolen electronis business. Also for EPA purposes.

If the ECM is similar to the LS1 Camaro and Trans Am I had, you could interchange ECM's as long as the year was the same on the ECM's. But it would be easier to just add an Edge box and be done with it.

I might be wrong but I think if swapped from one truck to the next they get locked out.I remember at the dealer I worked at wanting to pull a ECM from a new truck to try in a customers NEW truck, trying to diagnois a problem. After 2000 I think it could not be done because the vin was encoded in each respective ecm.
