Got flashed !

I took my 98.5 in for diagnosis of rough idle, got that taken care
of, but they flashed the ECM to the latest "spec". My wife thought
she was doing me a favor when she gave them the go ahead to
reflash. Everything seems to be fine so far, except that now my
cruise control no longer works. The service "advisor" doesnt have
a clue what the flash was supposed to change, but he can't
believe it would affect the CC. Any one experience this or heard
of it ?

One that comes to mind is that you now have the same fueling curve in OD/lockup that you do it 3rd/lockup. Before they had it "detuned" in od/lock so it wouldn't be so hard on the trans.

J-Body, so do you think the fuel curve change is a good thing, I'm
not familiar with the terminology.

The fuel curve now is good for your power- but potentially bad for your transmission.
Before it wouldn't go full juice in OD with the TC locked to be on the safe side...

I would have to have your current ECM part number to determine which updates were done. Another question arises though, did they also update your JTEC (powertrain controller)? This in my eyes would be a + as there were a few trans issues that updates took care of.
