Smarty Jr Settings

I have my Smarty Jr (5.14b) set at SW-1, TM-2, TQ-4 and POD-90. This works well for me because it lowered my EGT's 200-250 degrees , which was the primary reason I bought it. The added power is a definite plus. The only problem I have is unless I roll into the throttle there is more smoke, although not heavy, than I would prefer. Are there any other settings that might work to reduce smoke without raising my EGT's?
Thanks John

You can try by moving the TQ setting back to the stock level so it doesn't fuel as hard at lower RPM's till the boost kicks in. Another is drop the timing by one level to see that will help.

Thanks-I have a question. If torque and timing are set at stock is there any benefit with the Smarty Jr set at SW-1.
Thanks again John

You'll still see HP gains with SW-1 but with slightly higher than stock EGT's with the timing set to stock. TQ effects the torque management which in stock form is pretty aggressive to protect the transmission. A decrease in torque management increased the amount of low rpm fueling to help light the turbo faster but it's also harder on the transmission (auto).

Thanks again. I'll try different settings, when I have the time.
