Small Drip of trany fluid @bottom bellhouse

Is this normal for any trany fuild to appear on bottom of bellhousing. what is the best way to check trans fluid level

thanks what about any fluid on the small cover plate of the bell housing. there is a small drip flange "molded" into the sheet metal. Is anything at all normal, fluid that is to appear at that point and why

I doubt it is trans fluid..........more likely orange coolant seeping out of the heater hose to tube connection.Tighten up the clamps a bit.

He forgot to tell you to check the tranny fluid with the tranny in neutral while truck running. Yes, it's probably coolant from the right hand side back of the motor heater hoses. Tighten or reposition the clamps.

Mine leaked a bit out of the inspection plate after having the tranny serviced. I just tightened the bolts a bit and it stopped. It makes me wonder though, should any fluid be coming out of there?

No, generally that is not a good sign. Howere, IIRC the vent is in the bell housing area and if it gets overfilled or churned up it will vent into that area and drip out the inspection plate. As long as it quits your good.
