Shuttering when cold
Shuttering when cold
Hello everyone, have been a big fan and reader of the forum but never had a reason to post until now. The problem I have is after I start the truck when the engine is cold, I put it in drive and step on the gas the truck starts to shake. It stops when I get to 15-20 Kph and faster. When the engine is warm, it isn't no where near as noticeable. Just curious if anyone else has had this happen, or any suggestions before I call up the dealer?
Depending on the ambient temps you are having, it might not be a good idea to start the truck on a cool/cold mornig and hit the skinny peddle right away.
I will always let my truck warm up to approx 280* F engine coolant, and cool down to approx 300* F EGT before shutting her down.
If this is what you are doing, then the above is a complete waste of my one finger typing.
Good Luck

Thanks for the reply. I never hit the pedal hard until the truck has warmed up. But this started happening in +25 C weather. Fairly warm outside. Now that its getting colder, it seems to get worse. I even changed both differentials with RP, and did a tranny flush along with the transfer case. That didn't help. Could it be the air filter or fuel filter? I put the air filter on about 4 months ago with about 10,000 Kilometers on it with about 12,000 kilometers on the fuel filter.
